Proper Care for Your Eyes

I’m sure everyone will agree if I say that the sense of sight is the most important of all the five senses. Our eyes allows us to see and be grateful for the beauty of the world. It lets us do our daily activities much easier and it also allows us to remember things that we see. Pretty much in everything we do, we need our eyes. However, we usually take it for granted. Our eyes are sensitive and vulnerable to outside damage, so it important that we take care of it. Here are some tips to protect your eyes and keep it healthy.

Make it a habit to spend at least an hour under the sun. The sun is a good source of Vitamin D, an essential vitamin to our skin and eyes. Natural light from the sun possesses healing powers that promote good vision and keep eyes healthy. Remember not to look at the sun directly. It may burn your retinas and cause serious eye damage. You can wear a hat, visor or sunglasses for protection.

Almost everyday, we’re spending several hours staring at televisions and computer monitors, whether is just pure enjoyment or work.Those can be hard on our eyes. Staring too long on stillobjects can strainthe eyes. Looking at television screens and computer monitors can result to minimal eye movement, and can cause blurredvision and strained eyes. Your eyes need a break. Try to restyour eyes from time to time. Lookfor objects that are cool to the eyes and focus on it instead. You can also achievesimple eye exercises. It only take 5-10 minutes a day but it is very effective in relieving eye stress and blurry vision.

Most people say that reading is damaging to the eyes. However, it is not if you’re enjoying what you read. The eyes are more relaxed if you like what you read. Whether it’s a novel or an encyclopedia, it don’t matter as long you’re fond of the content. Try to avoid reading in dim lights and bright lights. The most idealis natural light. Also try to keep away from reading in moving vehicles. Eyes will get strained in focusing too much. Look for a comfy position when reading so that the eyes won’t exert too much effort.

Our eyes are very valuable so its a must that we take care of it.Keep away from situations that can cause eye stress. Also make it a habit to eat healthy and exercise eyes regularly. No one can take care of your eyes but you. It’s best to start as early as now before it’s too late.
